Description
Ernesto Colnago has always been one of the most innovative, forward looking and also eccentric bicycle manufactures of all time. It is no surprise that he always launched a unique and limited model to celebrate important goals of his company. As he actually did in 1989 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the brand Colnago. What would have been better than a collaboration with some of the best Italian manufacturers?
How it happened, the Colnago C35 Ferrari was born from a collaborative project with Ferrari and Campagnolo.
Ferrari designed for Colnago the very first monocoque carbon frame, which would be manufactured at Colnago's factory in Cambiago under Ferrari supervision.
Campagnolo contributed with the famous C-Record groupset with Cobalto brakes which in this case underwent a gold plating. And the result is terrifically captivating!
While looking at this bicycle, it is immediately clear that Colnago did not want to save a penny with engineering and materials, as the carbon Colnago wheelset perfectly illustrates. Whether one likes the result or not, must recognise that this bicycle marked a milestone in the bicycle industry.
Therefore the Colnago C35 has become an icon through the years and many collectors from six continents are after such beauty.
This model arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in very good condition and still has all original parts, even the Colnago Servizio Corse tires. Therefore - in order to preserve the authenticity and value - nothing has been changed.
An investment for avid collectors...
