Description

This bicycle may not have a steel frame, but that doesn't mean there is a lack of craftsmanship or appeal.

The Carbitubo was a revolutionary machine in its day. Ernesto Colnago was looking for ways to push the boundaries of performance cycling and thus decided to use different materials and frame geometries in his search for perfection.
He started to cooperate with car manufacturer Ferrari as well as with bonding specialists Alan and the result was this bicycle, the Colnago Carbitubo

The frame is made of carbon fiber tubes inserted into aluminium lugs including a unique double-down tube, making the bike very stiff.

The carbon techniques were a byproduct of the development that went into the CarbonVolo and C40 monocoque bikes.

The whole frame is stunningly manufactured, illustrating the history of the brand and the finely crafted bicycles that were released during the innovative 1980s and 1990s.
Tony Rominger claims the Carbitubo to be his favourite frame of all time! He took this model through three professional teams and is known to have half a dozen of these incredible pieces of engineering in his garage.

An icon of modern cycling history.
