Description

Colnago has always been a very creative frame builder and the evolution of the Mexico series perfectly illustrates this. First released in 1972 to celebrate Eddy Merckx' world hour record, the Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff. The second step was the Colnago Nuovo Mexico first released in 1982 and continued in the year 1983 with minor differences. It was built with profiled Columbus SL. This bike was followed by a shortly built Nuovo Mexico model with four crimps on the downtiube

Then the peak of this remarkable design evolution was achieved in the second half of the 1980s when the profiling of tubes culminated in the Colnago ESA Mexico, a bicycle that hit the market with a very distinctive six-crimps tubing designed by Columbus in collaboration with Colnago. The result was a stiff and light frameset with an aggressive racing look.

We are happy to present to you a Colnago Esa Mexico from 1986 in great condition. The frameset is equipped with an absolute evergreen regarding groupsets. It is the last generation super Record. A set of components which had been slightly improved and had proven their reliability in the professional races for 15 years. A pantographed seatpost and stem, together with the Colnago branded Ambrosio rims give this Esa Mexico the special touch which turns a great bike into a perfect one.
This machine is as good a ride as it is a spectacular piece to look at.

A must have for any Colnago collector!
