Colnago Super Krono Time Trial Bicycle 1980s

Few bicycles have influenced the scene as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were comparably heavy with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a bicycle which would become a legend of cycling history and the top model of his 1970s catalogue - the Super.

Colnago Super frame have been manufactured in great numbers and over many years, one specific version has been made just in handful of pieces though. It is the very rare Colnago Super Krono time trial featuring curved top and seat tubes, allowing for an aggressive geometry with a short wheelbase. This shaping has been adopted by Colnago Master Krono, but the Super Krono is even rarer. The aero position is achieved also by using a smaller 26" diameter front wheel. Our exemplar has been refurbished and it received an iconic Saronni red paintjob, which suits it really well we think.

Such a special bicycle deserves nothing but the best when it comes to equipment. Campagnolo Super Record groupset is elevated by Colnago pantographes and nice touches like Colnago branded saddle, pedal straps and bottle cage. Wheelset is also worth mentioning. Ambrosio Logos disc spins at the back and the 26" front one has been freshly laced with radial pattern using Record hubs and NOS Wolber Profil rim.

This bicycle is a rare gem which stands apart not just for it's rarity, but for it's good looks as well. An opportunity for all true Colnago fans.
