By the break of new millennium, carbon frames took the flagship role in almost all major brands line ups and Colnago was no exception. That created a situation, that the prestigious brand from Cambiago offered frames made from three major materials at the same time. The top models from carbon fiber were already race proven. Then there were the lightweight aluminium frames, brought to perfection in the last years. And the steel frames were also to have, as the true legacy of the brand.

This Colnago Dream Lux is the one which combines two materials in one frame. The main triangle is made of oversized Airplain aluminium tubes specially made by Columbus for Colnago. These have a pronounced cigar shaping and also crimping as a continuity of the vintage Nuovo Mexico or Master design. The rear stays are made of carbon fiber for light weight and also improved comfort. The Colnago Force front fork is also made if carbon fiber and with its robust shape and light weight fits the frame perfectly.

This bike has been equipped with Campagnolo Chorus parts with 9-speed Ergopower shifters on the bars. Worth mentioning are also the Record OS hubs, Ambrosio Excellence rims or the carbon fiber seatpost.
