Description

The Colnago Master is undoubtedly the evergreen of the cycling history. First released in 1983, five different versions of the Colnago Master were manufactured until 1998 ( the Master 1983, Master Più 1987, Master Olympic 1991, Master Light 1994 and Master X-Light 1998).

An here we offer you the Colnago Master of the 1st generation. It is not just one of the first series, which is characterized by the one-point lugs and externelly routed brake cable, but it is also a frame from the very first production years. This can be spotted by down tube decals with rainbow colour underlining or the original "Gilco" sticker on the seat tube. And it is certainly this tube set with distinctive crimped sections which made Colnago Master a constant icon. These tubes and their profile were specifically designed by Gilberto Colombo to improve the general stiffness and the mechanical withstand of the frame. The result is a very stiff, light and high-performing frameset.

Our Master still has the original fiery red paintjob and decals, which makes it rather special nowadays. The vintage Colnago paintjobs have a solid reputation when it comes to longevity, but 1st gen. Masters in nice original condition are an increasingly rare sight nevertheless.

This one is fully equipped with Campagnolo Super Record gruppo, the top of the line racing parts of the era. With some little fine finishing touches like the Colnago branded 3ttt stem or the Japanese Panaracer tires, it is a sweet bike for true Colnago fans.

It has been fully checked in our workshop and that means that it is ready to ride.

A stunning piece of road racing history which will shine on any wall or indeed withstand any challenge of a classic cycling event.
