Description
Here we offer you a Colnago Master 1st Generation from the 1980s.
The very first generation of the Colnago Master was released in 1984, the same year in which Giuseppe Saronni won the Giro d'Italia - riding a Colnago Master, of course.
The Master was meant to be an improvement of the Nuovo Mexico which had been Colnago's top model before. It had completely different lugs and a drastically changed tubing with the distinctive 4 deep crimps on each tube of the main triangle.
Any cyclist out there dreamed to own a Master, just like avid collectors nowadays have one in their collection.
The frame truly is an "evergreen". The tubing - "Columbus Gilco Design - Profilo S4" - with its profiled sections was specifically designed by Gilberto Colombo to improve the stiffness and to better withstand mechanical strain.
The Master had a huge impact on the cycling scene and became the most winning road bike model in the following years.
This beauty has been nicely refurbished and received a plain white paintjob. Top notch frame like this deserves only the best parts in nice condition. In this case it is Campagnolo's C-Record groupset including a set of iconic Delta brakes. And this Master comes with pantographs on the stem, crankset and crank arms, too!
A stunning piece of road racing history which will shine on any wall or indeed withstand any challenge of a classic cycling event.
