One of the more thankless professions in the cycling industry was that of an official. With no help from brands like Colnago, the 1980s introduced an onslaught of technologies that kept commissaires awake at night. The Colnago Master not only rewrote the rulebook, it became a symbol for innovation and performance throughout the 80’s and 90’s.

First introduced in 1983 as an evolution of the Colnago Mexico, the Master is instantly recognizable by the crimped top tube known as Profilo S4. These ultra rigid tube shapes were the brainchild of Gilberto Colombo, who drew from his experience in the automotive racing world to deliver a design that was dedicated to one thing, Speed. As a result, the Colnago Master Krono Classic Pursuit did that better than any other bicycle on the planet.

Power transfer for a time trial is only as good as the position the rider adopts. Colnago took inspiration from the track and developed a geometry profile that united man and machine. The absurdly low front end and inclusion of a 650c front wheel meant a time trialist could avoid detection from the wind. Aided further by the groundbreaking Campagnolo Ghibli Disc wheelset, the Colnago Master gave athletes an instant advantage which sparked an aerodynamic arms race across the industry.

The paint and decals on this one of kind bike are original and in fantastic condition. We have built the rest of up using the era appropriate Campagnolo C-Record groupset and stunning Delta brakes calipers. The entire bike has been pampered and serviced by our expert mechanics and is ready to break more records, and rules.
