Description
The Colnago Master model line is undoubtedly the evergreen of cycling history. First released in 1983, five different versions of the Colnago Master were introduced until 1998 (the Master, Master Più, Master Olympic, Master Light, and Master X-Light).
Thanks to these superb frames, the Italian brand achieved a peak of steel frame design, but on the other hand, the Master also represented the interim end of the steel era in the bicycle industry.
Introduced in 1991, the Master Olympic shares with its predecessors the famous profiled tubes, originally designed by Gilberto Colombo to make the frame stiffer and more reactive. The Olympic distinguished itself for slightly oversized tubes and very eye-catching paint schemes, like the bike we present you here.
Our Colnago Master Olympic Neo-Retro Road Bike is such a bike based on the Columbus Gilco tubing with distinctive crimpes. Colnago Precisia fork with straight blades is mounted in the front. It has been refurbished and received the famous Saronni deep red paintjob.
Such a frame is an ideal base for a "neo-retro" build. Classic steel frame combined with more modern components is a blend of choice for many riders and it's clear why. Steel takes care of a supple ride end elegant looks while the modern componentry provides supreme functionality and more contemporary feel of a bike.
Our Master Olympic has been equipped with Campagnolo Chorus 11-speed gruppo in black, which fits the paintjob perfectly. And with wide selections of gears, you will be able to tackle even the steepest of climbs with (relative) ease.
But that is just a half of the story. This truly is a premium bike and it has not just a great groupset, but all the other parts are of the highest level. Let's start with the wheelset. The smooth American Classic hubs are laced by aero spokes with DT Swiss rims and fitted with Vittoria Corsa Control Graphene 2.0 tyres. And it goes on. Deda Superleggero seatpost and cockpit, the brake pads are from Swiss stop or San Marco Regal saddle. And this all is in mint condition and has done just a few kilometres.
The combination of a modern groupset with a high class steel frame is a guarantee for riding pleasures. When you don't want to make any compromises, this stunning bike is just for you.
