Description

The Colnago Master model line is undoubtedly the evergreen of cycling history. First released in the mid 1980s, five different versions of the Colnago Master were introduced until 1998 ( the Master, Master Più, Master Olympic, Master Light, and Master X-Light).

Thanks to these superb frames, the Italian brand achieved a peak of steel frame design, but on the other hand, the Master also represented the interim end of the steel era in the bicycle industry.

Introduced in 1991, the Master Olympic shares with its predecessors the famous profiled tubes, originally designed by Gilberto Colombo to make the frame stiffer and more reactive. The Olympic distinguished itself for slightly oversized tubes and very eye-catching paint schemes, especially the famous Art Decor pattern.

This particular Colnago Master Olympic Competition illustrates a very iconic paint scheme with the classic 'rider' on the top tube and – of course – the very distinctive Columbus Gilco tubing.
What is extra cool about this bike is something which is hidden to the eye of the beholder: we got this bike from the hands of a very famous owner - Freddy Maertens'.
Yes that is right. You are able to say that your bike was ridden by a multiple world champion and probably the best sprinter of his time.

The bike is ready to be ridden and good for commuting or fast weekend jaunts. If your rides are taking you up hills and mountain passes, you will be happy to know that the triple chainset offers a gearing which is low enough for any but the steepest of climbs.

Checked and ready to go!
