Description
The Master series represent undoubtedly the peak in steel frame manufacturing, but on the other hand, also mark the end of the steel era in the bicycle industry.
Released in 1987, the Master Più shares with its predecessors the famous Columbus Gilco crimped tubing – specifically designed by Gilberto Colombo to improve stiffness and withstand mechanical strain – but differs for other details, such as the internally routed brake cable and the three-pointed lugs.
This particular Colnago Master dates back to 1988 and illustrates a very typical paintwork of the professional bikes of the Colnago Superconfex Yoko Team from the Netherlands, the famous predecessor of Buckler, Rabobank and Lotto NL Jumbo teams.
The bike is in good working condition and is fitted with premium parts from Campagnolo - the then new Campagnolo Chorus groupset. Its performance and elegant design made the Chorus group so popular that over the years it became Campagnolo's best selling componentry. Here in its first version, it features the stylish slim chainset, the innovative derailleur with adjustable slant parallelogram and the magnificent Monoplanar brakes.
If you are looking for a lovely Eroica eligible racer, this Colnago will not disappoint you.
