Description
One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate the 1972 Eddy Merckx world hour record. The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff! The next step in its evolution became the Colnago Nuovo Mexico first released in 1982 and continued in the year 1983 with minor differences. It was built with profiled Columbus SL tubes which had distinctive crimps on the sides of the top and down tube.
Our Colnago Mexico is the 1983 version which has been built for just one year. The superbe frame still has the original paintwork and its decals are original, too. A Campagnolo Super Record groupset, completed by a searched for OMAS headset, makes this bike a true gem of classic cycling.
Beside that, you will also find Mavic clincher rims and a 28 teeth freewheel. Both of these components make this bike the perfect choice for a hilly cycling event.
