Description

One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the first Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate Eddy Merckx' 1972 world hour record. The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff.

The next step in its evolution was the Colnago Nuovo Mexico first released in 1982 and immediately brought to victory by Giuseppe Saronni in the 1982 World Championships. It was built with profiled Columbus SL tubes which had distinctive crimps at the top and down tube.

This particular Colnago Nuovo Mexico Profil dates back to 1984 and belongs to the third Mexico series, with two crimps at the top tube and four at the down tube. The Columbus SL frameset is fully fitted with a Campagnolo Super Record Gruppo /p>

The bike arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes with an already refurbished frame. So it should be good for many years to come.

A vintage bicycle with top notch equipment throughout. Ready to race!
