Description

One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the first Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate Eddy Merckx' 1972 world hour record. The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff!
The next step in its evolution became the Colnago Nuovo Mexico first released in 1982 and immediately brought to victory by Giuseppe Saronni in the 1982 World Championships. It was built with profiled Columbus SL tubes which had distinctive crimps on the sides of the top and down tube.

This Colnago Nuovo Mexico is the last version built with two crimps on down tube and top tube and dates back to 1984. The colour is a typical red which reminds of Saronni's famous bike. some extra are the fully chromed Columbus Air rear stays and the elegantly laced wheels.

Regarding the parts, the bike has been built with the typical Campagnolo Super Record groupset. Top notch components which are expectable on such a fine racing bike.

A vintage bicycle which was one of the best of its time. Suitable for Eroica events worldwide.
