Description

One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate the 1972 Eddy Merckx world hour record.
The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff.

The next step in its evolution became the Colnago Nuovo Mexicowhich was first released in 1982 and immediately ridden to victory by Giuseppe Saronni in the 1982 World Championships. It was built with profiled Columbus tubes with distinctive crimps on top and down tube.

This Colnago Nuovo Mexico frame illustrates the typical deep red which became known as 'Saronni red'.

The Paintwork and Decals have been professionally refurbished.

But it is not only the tubing and condition which are special on this bike. It's also the the parts - many of which have received a gold plating, which suits the Super pretty well, we think.

The bike underwent a complete service: parts have been checked, cleaned and adjusted to make sure it works as fine as it did back in the day.

Approved for Eroica events worldwide.
