Description

One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate the 1972 Eddy Merckx world hour record. The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff.

The next step in its evolution became the Colnago Nuovo Mexico which was first released in 1982 and immediately ridden to victory by Giuseppe Saronni in the 1982 World Championships. It was built with profiled Columbus KL lightweight tubes with distinctive crimps on top and down tube.

This Colnago Nuovo Mexico frame dates back to 1980s. The Paintwork and Decals have been professionally refurbished and illustrates the typical deep red which became known as 'Saronni red'.

Regarding the components, this Colnago Nuovo Mexico is quipped with a full Campagnolo Super Record groupset with the last classic generation Super Record cranks and brakes, NOS Benotto tape or new Supercorsa saddle.

A vintage bicycle with racing pedigree and heritage, suitable for classic cycling events.
