Description
One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate the 1972 Eddy Merckx world hour record. The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff!
The next step in its evolution became the Colnago Nuovo Mexico first released in 1982 and continued until the year 1984 with minor differences. It was built with profiled Columbus SL tubes which had distinctive crimps on the sides of the top and down tube.
Our Colnago Mexico is the very last version with four crimps in the downtubes, which has been built for a very short time. In 1984, the new Colnago Master started to be the new top model. The superbe frame still has the original paintwork which is a very typical one, the so called Saronni Red - a deep red color with metallic effect. The frame sparkles in the sunlight and looks absolutely stunning!
A Campagnolo Super Record groupset makes this bike a true gem of classic cycling.
Checked and adjusted: ready to be ridden at the next Eroica! Suitable for all Colnago fans!
