Colnago Oval CX Oro 1980s Collectible Road Bike

The Colnago Oval CX is one of the offsprings of the first big wave of aerodynamic bike-building in the early 1980s. The tubes have been ovalised by Columbus and all cables were internally routed. This model has only been built for a short period of time and thus is pretty rare. But what is even rarer is this model in its 18K-gold plated version. Colnago Oval CX Oro bikes are as scarce as a hen's teeth. You practically never see them. Unless you take a look at our website ;-)

This bike is outfitted with the best groupset of its time, the Campagnolo Super Record. And it is the fully pantographed version collectors are searching for. To fit the color of the frame, the aluminium parts have been gold anodised.

The frame itself is simply stunning. The ovalised tubes with their special lugs are amazing enough without the special surface. The gold plating and red orovelato, the translucent paint, give the bike a dazzling glow.
