Description
The Rare Colnago Arabesque Regal from the 1980s unites some of the most extraordinary features you can find on a road bike of this period: The lugs, the tubing, the groupset.
Ever since Colnago came up with the beautifully ornamental Arabesque lugs, bicycle lovers all over the world tried to get hold of a one of the rare bikes with these iconic pieces. Unfortunately the number of frames with Arabesque lugs is limited and the number of collectors is high enough to have quick and totally absorbed each piece that has ever entered the market.
To a point that Colnago decided to bring out a new Arabesque model. Sadly these new bikes are just ordinary 'Master' frames with Arabesque lugs.
Quite the opposite, our Arabesque model is a really special one.
The lugs are fitted to tubes which derive from a glorious line of Colnago Mexico frames which marked the top of the line of Colnago's production since the 1970s until it made way for the Colnago Master for good.
This last Mexico model was called ESA-Mexico and had six significant crimps on top tube, down tube and seat tube. A fancy cross-faded Colnago paintjob and engraved details on the frame were obligatory.
Then there is the breathtaking completely pantographed Campagnolo Record groupset. And ours even includes a pair of pantographed hubs and pantographed pedals!
The bike as a whole is one of the opportunities which pop up seldom enough. An opportunity for you to get hold of such a rare and highly collectible piece of road bike design.
After all, this is the last of the original Arabesque models of the 1980s.
You will hardly find a second such nice Regal completely outfitted with such a fully pantographed groupset.
