Description
Almost all large bicycle brands, offered children's bikes at some point. And, of course, sports bike brands offered children's racing bikes.
One issue with these small machines was, that they needed completely different parts and raw materials to be manufactured. Everything needed to be sized down to offer the proper measures for children. At the same time, the market was not overwhelmingly big.
This resulted in most cycling brands to have special contractors building their children's bikes on special small frame jigs with small tubes and lugs and evenly tiny parts.
Our Colnago Sport Bambini Children's Bike is such an exemplar.
The tubes are of much smaller diameter than the usual 1". And because it is almost impossible to get proper lugs for such tubes, most of the connections have been executed lugless. The exception are beautifully chromed headlugs!
A tiny integrated cockpit makes handling and braking on this Colnago Sport easy and safe for short arms and small hands. A short crank and a narrow saddle enable short legs to pedal efficiently.
A beautiful and rare piece of 1970s cycling heritage and a real eye catcher on top!
