Description

Mexico, name of a Country and a city in unison, became associated with great sportive achievements around 1970.
There were, of course, the Olympic games of 1968 which saw many old Records pulverised and tumble. At the end of the same year, Ole Ritter set a new world hour Record in Mexico. The partly responsible thin air at this altitude was also one of the reasons for which cycling prodigy Eddy Merckx had his attempt at the hour there, in 1972.

Manufactured to celebrate his record, the Colnago Mexico is one of the most iconic bikes that left Ernesto's legendary factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy).
The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with a slightly different, lighter Columbus tubing and un-crimped chain stays - but it shared the aggressive racing geometry: short, agile and pretty stiff.

This Colnago Mexico frame stems from the early 1980s and represents the later bikes built before 1983, when Nuovo Mexico took over. Speaking of early 80s Colnago, an image of deep "Sarroni" red paintjob springs to mind and our Mexico still has an original one.
Which components to choose for a Colnago top model? A top level Campagnolo groupset, of course! It is equipped with Campagnolo Super Record gruppo with a special cherry on top - a Campagnolo Super Record Colnago pantographed seatpost. You will find also 3ttt cockpit with leather stitched bars or the brand new Supercorsa saddle.

This bike is an absolute classic - Mexico frame with Super Record groupset and in the iconic Saronni red. What's not to like?
