Description
Few bicycles have influenced the industry as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were averagely heavyweight and long, Ernesto Colnago released in 1968 a bicycle which would become a legend of the cycling history and the top model of his 1970s' line. Made of Columbus SL steel tubes, with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame, the Colnago Super was - and actually is - a high-performing bicycle. Since its launch, most racing bicycles have been built with a geometry close to the Super's.
This Colnago Super dates back to the mid 1970s and arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in an already refurbished condition. Which basically means that it got completely new paint.
Concerning the components, it is equipped with a 1st generation Campagnolo Super Record groupset with pantographed brake levers, seatpost and stem.
The frame even has cable guides brazed onto the top tube, which had to be ordered as an extra in the time when the frame was made. The later regular Colnago braze-ons were just two while here it is three of those classic Campagnolo ones.
This Colnago Super is the perfect choice for Colnago lovers who are looking for a nice 1970s model. Suitable for any classic cycling event.
