Description
Few bicycles have influenced the cycling scene as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were averagely heavy, with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a frameset which would become a legend of cycling history and one of the top models of his 1970s and 1980s catalogues – the Super.
Made of Columbus SL steel tubes, with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame, the Colnago Super was designed for high-performance. Since the launch, uncountable racing bicycles have been built with a geometry inspired by the Super.
This particular Colnago Super Road Bike in a typical "Saronni" red paintwork dates back to 1984.
This bike is fully fitted with premium parts, which are themselves the last version of their line: a Last Generation Campagnolo Super Record Gruppo. The setup is completed by a Colnago pantographed 3ttt setm and bar, and a Colnago branded rare six arm crankset by Gipiemme.
Iconic. One of the last of the classic Colnago Super builds and with a refurbished frame, thus in great condition.
With its clincher rims and a wide range freewheel, this is a suitable ride for historic cycling events like L'Eroica.
