Colnago Super Cromato Classic Road Bike 1981

Few bicycles have influenced the cycling industry as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were averagely heavy with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a bicycle which would become a legend of cycling history and his signature model for more than a decade - the Super.
It proved to be so popular that it became iconic and THE Colnago bike everybody thought of when the name of Ernesto's brand was dropped.

Made of Columbus SL steel tubes - with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame - the Colnago Super was designed for high-performance. Since its launch, many racing bicycles have been built with a geometry inspired by it.

Our Colnago Super Cromato dates back to ca. 1981 and interestingly comes with non-recessed brake bolt holes. Together with the imprinted chainstays the whole frame seems to be custom made, since it mixes designs from the late 1970s with features of the early 1980s .
The bike is fitted with a top class pantographed Campagnolo Super Record groupset..
