Colnago Super Early 1970s Classic Roadbike

Few bicycles have influenced the industry as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were averagely heavyweight and long, Ernesto Colnago released in 1968 a bicycle which would became a legend of the cycling history and the top model of his 1970s' line. Made of Columbus SL steel tubes, with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame, the Colnago Super was - and actually is - a high-performing bicycle. Since its launch, all racing bicycle have been built with the Super geometry.

This Colnago Super dates back to the early 1970s and arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in original condition. Since we wanted to keep it authentic, it basically underwent only a complete check in our workshop:

- BB, headset and hubs have been cleaned, greased and adjusted

- gearing and brakes have been cleaned, oiled and adjusted

- frame and fork have been inspected and cleaned

- cables, bar tape and chain (NOS Regina Extra) have been replaced

Re the components, it is fully equipped with its original Campagnolo Nuovo groupset with pantographed brake levers, chainring, seatpost and stem
