Description
Few bicycles have influenced the cycling scene as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were averagely heavy, with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a frameset which would become a legend of cycling history and one of the top models of his 1970s and 1980s catalogues – the Super.
Made of Columbus SL steel tubes, with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame, the Colnago Super was designed for high-performance. Since the launch, uncountable racing bicycles have been built with a geometry inspired by the Super.
This particular Colnago Super NOS Road Bike in a typical "Saronni" red paintwork dates back to 1985.
And in fact it is the last version of the Super frame, before it was replaced by the Superissimo.
Consequently, this bike is fully fitted with premium parts, which are themselves the last version of their line: a Last Generation Campagnolo Super Record Gruppo. The setup is completed by a Colnago pantographed 3ttt setm, Cmpagnolo rims, and a Selle Italia Turbo World Champion saddle.
Iconic. One of the last of the classic Colnago Super builds and never used, thus in impeccable condition. Even the Wolber Record tires are still holding air.
A bike for a collector or somebody who can really enjoy the ownership of such a time capsule.
