Description

It is not easy to find a road bike that has influenced the Italian cycling industry as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when many racing bicycles were comparably heavy, with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a bicycle which would become a legend of cycling history and the top model of his successful 1970s production - the Super.

Made of Columbus SL steel tubes - with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame - the Colnago Super was designed for high-performance. Since its launch, numerous racing bicycles have been built with a geometry inspired by the Super.

Our Colnago dates back to approximately 1970 and is in its details really an early model.
Before these bikes there were the chunkier 'Freccia' models and the more slender 'Roma' bikes. Then, in 1968, the Super was introduced, equipped with the then new Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset, and it instantly made history.
The specific style in which our bike was made has only been used for a span of not even one year between 1969 and 1970. Then, later in 1970, small changes were introduced to the Super.

As for the frameset, it was repainted and refinished by the previous owner in the colours of Team Scic. This iconic squadra existed from 1969 to 1979 and had some excellent riders in their ranks.

As for the components, the superb Campagnolo Nuovo Record parts have been fully serviced in our workshop in Berlin.

This Colnago Super is in a good condition and ready to be ridden.

The right choice for Colnago collectors and of course suitable for Eroica events!
