Description

Colner bicycles (which stands for COLNago ERnesto) are known as the little brother of Ernesto's main brand. The Colner bikes are neither better or worse than the more famous siblings from the Cambiago factory, they are just different. And for sure they have the typical Colnago soul: high-qulity bicycles ready to race! And it is no surprise as Ernesto Colnago came up with the clever trick of installing a second brand mainly because he could sponsor more pro teams that way.

This Colner illustrates the above said perfectly. It is a splendid bicycle where nothing is falling far behind the perfection.

The frame is made of lightweight Columbus tubing and it's a heap of refined details. Mainly due to the aero routing, which means that both shifting cables and brake cable are being routed inside either frame of handlebars. The first mentioned is being executed by tiny intakes just below the shifters and outtakes near the derailleurs. To avoid aero drag of the brake cables, the levers had to be modified. There is a clever mechanism which allows the cable to be anchored the other way than it usually is and is thus be able to enter the bars directly.

Regarding the components, nothing less than Campagnolo Super Record gruppo with some pantographed parts found a way on this red 80s racer. Especially the specially milled and engraved 2nd gen. Super Record brake calipers are a piece of beauty. It's no surprise, that it is completed with such classy parts like the Nisi Laser rims (in mint condition) or the Regina CX asymmetric chain.

This bike has it all. Connected to a cycling icon, based on a spectacular frame, equipped with top level and skillfully customized parts and in nice condition on top. Our Colner Aero road is a dream bike for those who are truly passionate about vintage cycling.
