Description
In Saint Étienne, the cradle of French bicycle production existed a dense complex of cycling componentry workshops. One of these companies was Sifem. Though the Société Industrielle de Fabrication Et Montage also produced single components, they became probably most famous for building the Luis Ocaña branded bikes.
Cashing in on the name of the famous Tour de France winner must have been a really clever move, considering they were able to run the brand through the 1970s and 1980s.
Our Luis Ocana Sifem has a frame constructed in a rather traditional way with stable steel tubes connected with lugs.
Being a French bike, a mix of exclusively French parts seems just appropriate. From Sachs-Huret shifting, through CLB brakes, Mafac levers, Pelissier hubs to the Phillippe bars, our bike from Saint Étienne stays true to its origins when it comes to the componentry.
It has been completely checked, serviced and when necessary, parts have been changed for brand new ones. Ready to ride!
