Description
Motobécane was one of the biggest bicycle producers in France and existed under this name from 1923 until 1984. Afterwards it became a branch of Yamaha and continued producing bicycles in France under the Name MBK.
In the 1980s and 1990s MBK brought some very nice and modern steel bikes to the market. They sponsored famous professional teams and their design was unmistakeable.
Just like you can see on this MBK Mirage Classic Road Bicycle from the 1990s. The rear triangle is cut a bit shorter with the seat stays being aerodynamically formed. The seatpost clamping is hidden in the little 'tail' of the top tube. Top and down tube are flattened out towards the back to give the frame a bit of extra stability. The tubes are connected in a way MBK calles an "inextrenal welding", where the welds are not visible from the outside but hidden inside the tubes.
An then you have the paintjob - the signal pink and yellow color scheme just roars that this bike is an authentic 90s road machine. Equipped with reliable Shimano parts, it is also easy to live with.
If you are up for something what stands apart and turn some heads, then search no more.
