Daccordi Opera NOS Suntour Superbe Pro Road Bike 1990s

Daccordi is a traditional Italian Bicycle manufacture. They went into business in 1937 and are still building bikes today.
In the humble beginnings, the production was mainly everyday vehicles but later they started to invest more energy in sports bikes. And from 1981 on, they entered the market for top-notch racing frames with stunning products and designs. Their creations belong to most beautiful and advanced steel bikes of the 1980s and 1990s.

And this exemplar is no exception. Under the blue paint job lays a structure of lightweight Columbus Genius tubes, one of the first choices of a professional racing bikes in the 90s. Some of the tubes are connected by lugs but the majority has been smoothly welded together.
But let's cut to the chase and mention the parts. Our Daccordi sports the Suntour Superbe Pro groupset in NOS condition, perhaps the best one of it's time and now an uncrowned holy grail of Japanese cycling componentry. Suntour was in many areas years ahead of its rivals and that was particularly true in case of shifting. Suntour owned the patent for the slant palarelogram derailleurs and it was after its expiration when Shimano really started dominating the market with SIS shifting. Suntour Superbe Pro was meant as a pure racing groupset, the aesthetics were nevertheless just as important as the function and quality materials. An as you can see it is just splendid. In this case it's even better since it is in NOS condition and the bicycle has never been ridden or perhaps for a very short test ride but certainly without braking.
But there are also other parts and the special carbon fiber hubs are especially worth mentioning.
