Description
Ugo De Rosa is one of the greatest frame builders of all time. Not only did he supply many champions with his high-end bicycles - Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser - but manufactured masterpieces which strongly influenced the cycling industry, as did the De Rosa Professional SLX.
The Professional is one of the best bicycles of the 1980s. It was constructed using Columbus steel tubes, very light and stiff, and, when SLX, with inner reinforcements, butted sections and reinforced chain stays. The Professional SLX also marked a turning point in the history of De Rosa, creating the link between traditional and modern steel frame design.
This example still has the externally routed rear brake cable and the 'old school' Cinelli bottom bracket shell. it has been equipped with some of the finest Campagnolo parts of its era. In fact, the Chorus groupset was Campagnolo's most popular one during the late 1980s and early 1990s, due to its versatility. Of course, this bike shows the typical De Rosa heart engravings on the fork crown and the profiled "Diamante" chain-stays.
A great example of Ugo De Rosa's legacy. A bicycle with a great appeal for connoisseurs and steel road bike enthusiasts.
