Description
Ugo De Rosa is certainly one of the best frame builders of all time. Not only he supplied many champions with his high-end bicycles (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser, just to name a few) but also manufactured masterpieces which strongly influenced the cycling industry, just as the De Rosa Professional SLX.
The Professional SLX is certainly one of the best bicycles of the 1980s. Made of Columbus SLX steel tubes (a very light and stiff tubing with inner reinforcements, down tube butted section and lighter chain stays), the Professional SLX also marked a milestone in the whole De Rosa production, the link between classic and more modern steel frames.
This exemplar has been ordered in December 1988 at De Rosa and was delivered in 1989. It still has the original deep dark blue paint and almost all the original parts. (Saddle and rims have been changed). Of course, it is equipped with a top-class Campagnolo C-Record groupset with Delta brakes: just the best of everything!
A unique bicycle with a great appeal and value! For true connoisseurs.
