Description
Ugo De Rosa is one of the greatest frame builders of all time. Not only did he supply many champions with his high-end bicycles - Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser - but manufactured masterpieces which strongly influenced the cycling industry, as did the De Rosa Professional SLX.
The Professional SLX is one of the best bicycles of the 1980s. It was constructed using Columbus SLX steel tubes, a very light and stiff tube-set with inner reinforcements, butted sections and reinforced chain stays. The Professional SLX also marked a turning point in the history of De Rosa, creating the link between traditional and modern steel frame design.
This example is already pretty elaborated with an internally routed rear brake cable. it has been equipped with some of the finest Campagnolo parts from the C-Record era. The Cobalto brakes only had a short intermezzo between the first and second generation of Delta brakes. Of course, this bike shows the typical De Rosa heart engravings on the fork crown and profiled "Diamante" chain-stays.
A great example of Ugo De Rosa's legacy. A bicycle with a great appeal for true connoisseurs and Eroica enthusiasts.
