Description
Ugo De Rosa is certainly one of the best frame builders of all time. Not only did he supply many champions with his high-end bicycles (Gianni Motta, Eddy Merckx and Francesco Moser, just to name a few). As a frame builder, Ugo de Rosa was absolutely the measure of all things from the mid 1970s to early 1980s. In fact, in the Giro d'Italia of 1974, an estimated 80% of all riders in the peloton rode on bikes which were built by De Rosa.
He simply manufactured masterpieces and through them strongly influenced the cycling industry. In his dominant years of the 1970s, his top model was the De Rosa Strada Record the later versions of which are often also referred to as the De Rosa Super Prestige.
We are happy to be able to present one of these machines to you. An exemplar in amazing condition, on top. A bike that has not seen many miles on the road and is perfectly preserved.
The Strada Record is certainly one of the best bicycles of the 1970s. Made of Columbus SL steel tubes (a very light and stiff tubing) and equipped with the best parts of its time. Which means the Campagnolo Super Record groupset. The groupset is pantographed with those typical nice De Rosa hearts and logos.
The cherry on the cake are the original bidon and pump which are still there and are looking as new as the bike does.
A unique bicycle with a great appeal and value! For true connoisseurs.
