Description
Ever since the Bicycle has been both, a means of transportation and a sports vehicle, there has been the urge to merge these two aspects into one bicycle type. Such fast touring bikes proved to be very popular in France and thus are usually known under their French name as randonneurs or randonneuses.
But there are also examples from other countries as our Italian Denti Randonneur shows.
The brand had originally been founded by Mino Denti, who was a cyclist in the late 1960s with Salvarani, Faema and Scic teams, before he grabbed the torch and started building frames.
Obviously the company which had been specialised in steel road bike frames, was developing their range due to the challenging market of the 1990s.
Mountainbikes were integrated as well as cyclocross bikes, triathlon bikes - and the odd randonneur.
So what you can get here is a fine and rare piece, a Denti Walkabout Randonneur with a completely new setup, including a dynamo hub, a tubus rack, compact crankset and reliable STI-Levers.
The frame itself is made from specific Dedacciai steel which has been TIG welded.
A really special piece for tall riders who are looking for a classy and fast bike for light touring.
