Description
In the late 1980s and also in the 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames and therefore the choice of many professional teams. It dominated the peloton with its extremely well made triangle of light and rigid Columbus SLX tubes. The SLX was a "superbutted" tubeset from Cyclex steel, designed for professional use famous for its helical reinforcements on the end of the tubes.
Our Corsa Extra is one of the later ones, dating back to 1996, and it sports the colours of the famous team Gan. And these very paint scheme was quite successful too, when riders like O'Grady, Bäckstedt and Boardman manged to win two stages and the prologue of that years Tour de France.
Our bike has been outfitted with great parts which are formed by Campagnolo Chorus, C-Record and Athena parts, which are accompanied by the Cinelli pantographed cockpit and the Turbomatic saddle. Around the Campagnolo hubs are turning the Fir blue anodized rims - certainly a nice touch which match the paint scheme perfectly.
The bike has been checked in our workshop and is ready to go.
