Eddy Merckx steel bicycles made themselves a name for being some of the best handling and fastest racing machines available.
It always was Eddy's idea that a bike should not be light for lightness sake. Less weight should help you to climb up hills, but when stability is sacrificed, most of the rider's power is sacrificed in the movements of the frame. And descending becomes a nerve-wrecking adventure where you simply are not as fast as a competitor who knows that his slightly hevier but stronger bike is riding as stable as on rails.

Consequently Merckx was trying to build averagely light bikes which were far stronger than average.
He succeeded by using specially drawn oversized tubing which, combined with a superior geometry, came out as some of the finest road bike frames of the 1990s: The MX-Leader, the Arcobaleno or the Corsa 01.

Our Eddy Merckx Corsa 01 has been built using lugs and oversized and ovalized Dedacciai ZeroUno tubes and was basically a perfected new version of the Corsa Extra.
The bike is very strong and at the same time very forgiving. A smooth and fast ride, the kind of which lets the longest rides feel like pleasant refreshing trips.

To add beauty and performance, the Corsa 01 is fully equipped with a Campagnolo Athena 9-Speed groupset.
This Eddy Merckx is a bike which is good for fast commuting, weekend touring or whatever else you are up to.
