Description

In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames and therefore the choice of many professional teams. It dominated the peloton with its extremely well made triangle of light and rigid Columbus SLX tubes. The SLX was a "superbutted" tubeset from Cyclex steel, designed for professional use famous for its helical reinforcements on the end of the tubes.

Our Eddy Merckx dates back to the late 1980s and shows the beautiful and rather rare custom paintjob. The paint is not the only highlight on the surface. Our Eddy Merckx also has a number holder and comes in a custom geometry with rather short top tube and longer stem. But the real clue is the seat tube angle which is surprisingly flat at 70°. Meaning, the frame has been built with races on rough terrain in mind - think Flemish pavé.
The bike has been outfitted with great parts which are essentially the last generation Super Record groupset which Campagnolo produced until 1987.

The bike has been checked in our workshop and is ready to go.

Perfect for daily rides, weekend tours and nostalgia.
