Description
In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames and therefore the choice of many professional teams. It dominated the peloton with its extremely well made triangle of light and rigid Columbus SLX tubes. The SLX was a "superbutted" tubeset from Cyclex steel, designed for professional use famous for its helical reinforcements on the end of the tubes.
Our Eddy Merckx dates back to the late 1980s and shows the beautiful paintjob of the Team ADR. A particularly popular Belgian équipe, which, despite being poorly funded, managed to secure some excellent results. The paint is not the only highlight on the surface. Our Eddy Merckx also has fully chromed stays, something which you had to order as a costly extra.
Our bike has been outfitted with great parts which are mainly based on the Chorus groupset. Other great components are the wheels with legendarily smooth Mavic hubs and Campagnolo rims. On top the wheels are running on 28mm Continental tires for that extra comfortable feeling on rough surfaces
The bike has been checked in our workshop and is ready to go.
Iconic. Perfect for daily rides, weekend tours and 80s nostalgia.
