Description

Top model in the 80s Eddy Merckx catalogue, the Professional has been one of the most appealing steel racing frameset ever since.


After retiring from competitions, the great Belgian champion set up a bicycle manufacture. Since he wanted to build road bikes as fine as possible, he engage Ugo De Rosa – possibly the best frame builder of all time – to help with frame design and teach other frame builders.


This particular Eddy Merckx Professional – serial number A8R E872 – dates back to 1981 and arrived at Steel Vintage Bikes in original condition. Built with light Reynolds 531 tubing, this Professional is fully fitted with Campagnolo Nuovo Record and Super Record parts which have been thoroughly serviced in our workshop. Whether to tackle the impervious gravels of Eroica or to enjoy the pleasure of riding a classic steel bike, this Eddy Merckx is ready for the joy of the adventure.
