Description
The Eddy Merckx Professional was the top model of the early 1980s Eddy Merckx catalogue. After retiring from competitions, the great Champion Eddy Merckx started setting up a bicycle manufacture. Since he wanted to build the best road bikes possible, he engaged simply the best frame builder to help him with designing the frames and teaching other frame builders: Ugo De Rosa.
1980s Eddy Merckx Professionals have appealed to collectors from all around the globe ever since. Much rarer than the men's version is the ladies frame, which is a classic anglais construction and which used basically the same materials than the typical diamond shaped Professionals.
Our frame - serial number P7645E - dates back to mid 80s. The frame, made of Columbus SL tubes, has been refurbished in an elegant red colour and prior to that it has been fitted with additional braze-ons as mudguard and rack mounts.
As for the components, this Eddy Merckx Professional is equipped with Campagnolo Victory groupset, Wolber rims, 3ttt cockpit and original Turbo Lady leather saddle.
