The Eddy Merckx Professional was the top model of the early 1980s Eddy Merckx catalogue. After retiring from competitions, the great Champion Eddy Merckx started setting up a bicycle manufacture. Since he wanted to build the best road bikes possible, he engaged simply the best frame builder to help him with designing the frames and teaching other frame builders: Ugo De Rosa.
1980s Eddy Merckx Professionals have appealed to collectors from all around the globe ever since. This one - serial number M5 Z 2314 - dates back to 1985 and is in original condition. It is made from light, butted Columbus SL tubes and has a nice chromed fork as an extra.
As for the components, this Eddy Merckx Professional is equipped with an great and period correct Super Record groupset.
