Description
The Eddy Merckx Professional was the top model of the early Eddy Merckx brand. It was 'the bike that lives up to its name'.
After retiring from competitions, the great Champion Eddy Merckx started setting up a bicycle manufacture. Since he wanted to build the best road bikes possible, he managed to engage one of the best frame builders of all time to help him with designing the frames and teaching other frame builders. And as it happened Ugo de Rosa - The Master set some of the first frames of the Eddy Merckx Professional and helped Eddy in the first business years.
Eddy Merckx Professionals from the 1980s appeal to collectors from all around the globe due to their perfection and their pedigree. This one - serial number A5E5496 - dates back to early 80s. The frame has been refurbished in deep red color, the fully chromed fork kept it's original plating in good condition though. When looking at the frame, you certainly cannot miss the racing number holder on the top tube, hinting that this bike is meant for serious racing.
Regarding the components, it is fully equipped with a high level Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset, Cinelli cockpit or the Mavic clincher rims in great condition.
Great chance for all Eddy Merckx fans and collectors to own a legendary model.
