Description
After retiring from competitions, the great Champion Eddy Merckx started setting up a bicycle manufacture. Since he wanted to build the best road bikes possible, he managed to engage one of the best frame builders of all time to help him in designing the frames and teaching other frame builders. And as it happened Ugo de Rosa - The Master welded the first frames of the Eddy Merckx Professional and helped Eddy in the first business years.
In no time, Merckx estabilshed a company which provided top quality frames to the best riders of the world. From the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s an Eddy Merckx was one of the best road bicycles you could get and also the choice of many professional teams. There were not only the classic SLX frames but also the ones made of thicker gauge tubing - just as this Eddy Merckx Strada Classic Racing Bike.
Cromor tubes were slightly heavier than SL or SLX tubes but also provided a bit more stiffness. That way they became pretty popular for all terrain bikes and even a couple of professional sprinters chose Cromor frames due to the better power transfer.
Our Eddy Merckx Strada is equipped with one of the best groupsets of its time, the Shimano Dura Ace - an ultra reliable performance booster.
Checked and lubed, this beauty of a bicycle is ready to hit the road again and will be a trustful companion for many many miles to come.
