Description
Most cycling brands, even the famous ones, had some bread-and-butter bikes in their model line.
As far as racing bikes are concerned, this meant substantially cheaper tubing and very simple parts. Bikes for the masses sold well under a great name.
Eddy Merckx' model line is taking a very different approach in the 1990s: The more affordable models were of such a high quality that you could have won professional races on them. They were not made from the fantastic new materials like aluminium or titanium but of excellent steel tubing.
Our Eddy Merckx Strada OS is such a bike. The reliable, oversized tubing forms a frame which is strong and forgiving at the same time. On our bike, a Time carbon fiber fork is taking away much of the strain and vibration of riding on rough roads.
To make sure that this machine is working flawlessly, the groupset is a Shimano Ultegra. Just as reliable as the frame.
To top the setup off, our brake shifting levers are the rare Team Edition Shimano Dura Ace version, and the Saddle is an Eddy Merckx TurboMatic. This bicycle is good enough for a brevet, a trans-alp, long training rides or commuting in style.
A great product for those who just want more than an averagely good performing bike.
