Description
In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames and therefore the choice of many professional teams. It dominated the peloton with its extremely well made triangle of light and rigid Columbus SLX tubes. The SLX was a "superbutted" tubeset from Cyclex steel, designed for professional use famous for its helical reinforcements on the end of the tubes.
This Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra dates back to 1988 and shows the classic fuchsia paint scheme of the Team Lotto-Eddy Merckx. It is equipped with a groupset which was just freshly introduced in 1988, the Croce d'Aune became for some time the second-in-line group just sitting behind the famous C-Record. It comes of course with a set of iconic Delta brakes!
The setup illustrates that this bike was not meant to be a toy but a thoroughbred racing machine.
The bike has been checked in our workshop and is ready to go.
Iconic. Perfect for daily rides, weekend tours and 80s nostalgia.
