Description
Classic Fiorelli bikes have many friends in the collectors scene.
Founded in 1932 by three brothers. The company sponsored several teams and riders and was very succsessful. Famous champions rode Fiorelli bikes, among them Schotte, Kubler, Koblet, Gaul, Motta and Ole Ritter who broke the world hour record on a Fiorelli frame in 1968.
In the late 1950s, Fausto Coppi wanted to start producing his own classic Italian racing bicycles. He made a deal with Fiorelli in Novi Ligure for the manufacture of bicycles under his name. These vintage bicycles were very similar to Fiorelli's own designs, apart from the finish and branding. When the Campionissimo passed away in a malaria fever in 1960, this contract was still valid and the production of Fausto Coppi branded bicycles continued.
This specific Fausto Coppi Bicycle is a wonderful piece from the 1970s. A very classy and classic build, simple and elegant with chromed head tube lugs and the all-time-classic Columbus SL tubing. It is equipped with the legendary Campagnolo Record groupset enriched with numerous fine pantographs, which suit this bike very well. It also sports the Campagnolo Portacatena shifter, a 3ttt SL saddle and a light metal freewheel as nice gimmicks!
A rare 1970s racer from an excellent frame builder. Certainly a wonderful ride for any vintage cycling event!
