Description
Classic Fiorelli racing bicycles really appeal to many collectors worldwide. Founded in 1932 in Novi Ligure (Liguria region, Italy) by three brothers, the brand sponsored several teams and riders and was very successful. Many famous champions rode Fiorelli bikes. Among them Schotte, Kubler, Koblet, Gaul, Motta and Ole Ritter who broke the world hour record on a Fiorelli frame in 1968.
In the late 1950s, Fausto Coppi wanted to begin producing his own classic Italian racing bicycles. And as it happened, he made a deal with Fiorelli for the manufacture of bicycles named after his name. These vintage bicycles were very similar to Fiorelli's own designs, apart from the finish and branding. When Fausto Coppi died of malaria in 1960 this contract was still valid and the production of Fausto Coppi branded bicycles continued.
This Fiorelli is a stunning work from the 1980s in original condition. Named "Campionissimo" - easy to understand why - it was one of the best models manufactured with Coppi brand. Overall it is a very classic built, simple and elegant.
Re the technical side, it is made of light and sturdy Columbus SL tubes and is equipped with an original Campagnolo Super Record groupset - the best components of the 1980s.
Beside that, you will also find Nisi tubular rims, Regina freewheel and a Selle Italia Campionissimo Fausto Coppi Edition Saddle
The perfect bike to take part in vintage cycling event. A true handmade Italian bike!
