Description
Fonlupt was founded already in 1920 and since then existed as a company for high class bicycles in Central France.
During the 1980s they started to outsource the frame building and concentrate on painting and building up complete bikes.
Consequently we do not know which frame builder was responsible for our excellent Fonlupt Road Bike.
The tubing that has been used for this beauty was Columbus Thron, the jack-of-all-trades of steel tubes, which was equally good for lugged, fillet brazed or tig-welded constructions.
On our bike we find lugs which are combined with a straight fork in the front and a less straight rear end. In fact, the rear stays received an elegant S-curvature! Something you have not seen often on steel road bikes in the mid 1990s.
The whole frame received a fine decor paintjob and is equipped with a Campagnolo 2x9-Speed groupset.
A perfect high-end commuter and a great bike to take fast trips with.
